Like living on the edge, equip the Fury of the Fallen (right), a charm that almost doubles your damage when you are one hit away from death. Is a tough enemy not dying fast enough, swap your mapping charm for a damage charm. Instead of skill points and trees that many games use, Hollow Knight instead ops to use a system where you choose charms based on your playstyle and the obstacles you might encounter. This is one of the best examples of the characters that bring so much life to this game.
